Quepos, Costa Rica
The town of
Quepos in Puntarenas Costa Rica, is three and a half hours south of
San José 110 miles (177 km), the city of Quepos is one of the Central
Pacific's most famous destination, for its proximity to
tourist-attraction the Manuel Antonio National Park.
Quepos
population is 13,254, its name has its origins in the Quepo Indians
who once walked on these lands.
Tourism has
definitely risen the economy; sportfishing, river rafting and canopy
tours easily makes more money than the banana crops on which the town
once depended, and the African palms along the coast are quickly
forgotten.
