Horseback Riding Trek To Waterfall

Enjoy a scenic horseback trek through the tranquil countryside outside the town of Villa Nueva, about 30 minutes from Parador Resort & Spa. Twisting trails through the rainforest lead you to a river, which you’ll follow on horseback for about 1½-hours.

Afterwards, a short hike will take you to two spectacular waterfalls. Jump in and cool off in the calm pool beneath the natural torrent and enjoy some revitalizing snacks (juice, water, fruit, cookies). You’ll get back on the horses for another hour and end the morning with a traditional Costa Rican lunch. It’s a great half-day trip for couples, groups or families.

  • What To Bring: Long pants, tennis or hiking shoes, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, hat, camera
  • Duration: 4 ½ to 5 hours.

Horseback Riding On A Cattle Ranch

Spend half of an amazing day on horseback on 1,000 stunning acres of a working cattle ranch, lush rainforest and African palm and fruit tree plantations.

This is the only working cattle ranch and private horse farm in Costa Rica’s southern zone, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to join wranglers as they move cattle from pasture to pasture. You’ll also stop off for a visit at the onsite dairy where they make fresh cheese and bottle milk.

Part of the ride will take you through the jungle, home to monkeys, coatis, sloths and a riot of birds, and you’ll have a chance to take a refreshing dip in a calm river pool before heading back. This guided tour is a fun, educational adventure for the entire family. Experienced riders will love the open spaces, which will give them the opportunity to show off their horsemanship.
